The Sword & The Flute: Poetry

Dazzling in endurance,
performing best when passively wielded,
dependent upon air for their precision

There are few finer things than
a sharpened katana blade
and the fine notes of a flute

See them personified among the bamboo reeds,
He, a warrior in black armor
She, a willow reed in simple silks

They merge into one fine note of heat
within a stalwart fortress of the Heart,
red rooms flanked by steel doors:

The Inner Sanctuary.
