Madmen: Poetry

Oh, yes...
Let us shout
and assign blame
as blood runs
and a child
dies

Let us claim Madmen
as the champions
of political discourse,
waving accusatory
fingers at which
vitriol is
responsible

In the process,
we fail to realize
that Madmen
are merely the
worst reflection
of society's
rampant paranoia

There exists
an unseen war
of ideas
made in
pristine halls
of wealth
that aren't partisan
in the least

And an undercurrent
of rage is growing
within the populace
at every indignity
suffered through

The hatred on
the airwaves is
only there so
that we can have
a target for
our anguish
at living one
scant paycheck
away from a
tent city
of our own.
