Where You Are: Poetry

Yesterday I felt inside
the sliver of recognition,
a part of me so long denied
that fueled artistic ambition

And my art revels an enigma

buried in my all
born of pain and pleasure,

it whispers in the voice of the small:

On a journey,
finding out exactly
what I need

Resting here in the
same place,
yet being so different

I am not the same woman,
nor the same girl I'd been

And there is unspoken dram
behind the scene waiting to
be revealed

It makes me wonder if
I've fooled myself
but I know I haven't

And the saying is ever true:
Sometimes in order to
understand where you are,
you must first understand
where you aren't.
