Poetic Mathematics of Mankind: 5

Note: What follows is a part of a 10-post poetic commentary on mankind's devolution (posts on our evolution begin here and are similarly titled in the archives.)

It came to me,
The moment, that horrid moment
Reminding me of what came before
When I lost what was dearest to me
In the downpour from the heavens

In the aftermath of what is destroyed
I can have no faith in love
These emotions must be controlled
And I will not revisit that place

My heart is closed,
Closed, closed
My mind is there and it knows it all
By logic we can find the cure,
With logic we can oversee it all
Two arms, two legs, one head
A mind to conquer the four elements
And the pain to remind me of
My Purpose.
