Poetic Mathematics of Mankind: 10

Note: What follows is a part of a 10-post poetic commentary on mankind's devolution (posts on our evolution begin here and are similarly titled in the archives.)

They say this is a golden age
Of light and love and peace
But what of me and mine
And my own ambitions?

I heard a rumor of a time
That came before when
Feelings were not so exploited
And we knew of valor

These golden halos are the
Same each day all year round
They simply do not satisfy
And they leave me unfulfilled

Surely we have not known
Everything,
Surely there is something
More to be done
Surely it hasn’t’ all been explained,
Surely there is more than this

I am curious…
