Love Daze: Poetry

Enraptured,
I float adrift
in clouds made of
coal-brown eyes
with sky-blue rings

I skate along the curve
of lips dropping
rhythmic lines
to my waiting ears

And if I paused
for a moment,
it was only because
I could not stop
dancing to the groove

Maybe I'm reliving a
second,
Maybe I'm just standing
still,
Maybe I'm just reaching
past an hour's time
It's all a love daze
anyway,
It's all a childhood rhyme

So these fingers intertwine
with chocolate kisses
and humor from the gallows
mingled with Tinkerbell's
own laugh

And this gaze locks
with the significance
of other,
the decadence of self,
washing away everything
that came before
until it's just you and I

These lyrics,
this music,
it's all in my head,
through my body
I hear it,
every word that you've said

Maybe I'm reliving a
second,
Maybe I'm just standing
still,
Maybe I'm just reaching
past an hour's time
It's all a love daze
anyway,
It's all a childhood rhyme

I don't understand,
can't command
any phrase that I think
When your touch
is too much
like a wine that I drink
flowing to the heart,
to the core

(I can't think anymore...)

Maybe I'm reliving a
second,
Maybe I'm just standing
still,
Maybe I'm just reaching
past an hour's time
It's all a love daze
anyway,
It's all a childhood rhyme...

I love you.
